A Plea for the Rohingyas

Running north to south along the border of Bangladesh, one of the truly forgotten ethnic minority groups of the modern world, the Rohingyas are dying by the thousands. According to witnesses, hundreds of Rohingyas have been turned away by authorities in neighboring Bangladesh after attempting to flee the fighting in boats. The Rohingyas never accepted any other religion than Islam and were never granted citizenship or any other rights along their border with the Buddhist Myanmarese, who don’t want them and have always tried to force them to join the Bangladeshis.Continue reading “A Plea for the Rohingyas”

Muslim NGO contribution to address the “LGBT” danger
In order to build an impact on the secular forces sure to be articulate in the coming 2013 Periodic Review of human rights situations in Malaysia and the other countries selected for participation in this particular session, we must be clear enough within ourselves what the secular agenda really is, and we must design a suitable strategy for countering and enlightening this agenda to allow an uncorrupted adherence to our values within the community of nations however we find it at this moment in human history. Pada 7 haribulan Mac 2012 baru-baru ini, Majlis Hak Asasi Manusia Pertubuhan Bangsa-bangsa Bersatu (PBB) telah menganjurkan suatu panel berkenaan “Diskriminasi dan Keganasan berdasarkan Orientasi Seksual dan Identiti Gender” yang berlangsung sebagai sebahagian acara tahunan sesi ke 19 Majlis Hak Asasi Manusia di Geneva, Switzerland. Panel tersebut telahpun mendapat bantahan daripada Kumpulan Negara OIC bagi Hak Asasi Manusia, yang telah mengirim sepucuk surat kepada Presiden Majlis Hak Asasi Manusia PBB, Laura Dupuy Lasserre bagi menyatakan kebimbangan Negara-negara OIC terhadap usaha untuk memperkenalkan di dalam Deklarasi Universal Hak Asasi Manusia terma-terma serta standard-standard berkenaan Orientasi Seksual dan identiti Gender yang asing di dalam “bahasa” dan “penerimaan nilai-nilai sejagat” berkenaan hak Lesbian, Gay, Biseksual dan Transeksual, serta dengan jelas menolak sebarang usaha untuk menjadikan orientasi Lesbian, Gay, Biseksual dan Transeksual (ringkasnya “LGBT“) sebagai nilai-nilai yang sepatutnya diterima semua Negara anggota PBB sebagai sebahagian dari hak-hak asasi manusia sejagat.Continue reading “Prinsip-prinsip Yogyakarta: Agenda Bahaya Berselindung Di sebalik Topeng Hak Asasi Manusia”
