Having met several European white-skinned Muslims lately, I have noticed that they are still much more casual about converting to Islam than most Americans. A Danish brother says that many Danes are converting, in spite of the bad reputation his country has with Muslims elsewhere.Continue reading “9/11”

A Must-Read Book
I had the privilege of attending the launch of Yang Mulia Tan Sri Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas’ latest pearl of wisdom, entitled “Historical fact And Fiction” earlier today. It was held at UTM’s International Campus, Kuala Lumpur. Read the news here and here; the book’s synopsis and a glimpse of its contents can be found here.Continue reading “A Must-Read Book”
Ramadhan Reflections 1432H
What’s next after Ramadhan? Qibla Teachers Pitch in (Source: Qibla Monthly)
Shaykh Qays Arthur:
“This Ramadhan has reached mankind in general and the Muslims in particular in a state of upheaval and disquiet, economically and politically. Allah tells us that when men are corrupt, corruption becomes apparent on earth and in societies as a sign to remind us of the greater next-worldly consequences so that we may return to the right way.

However, these developments are a “drop in the bucket”; if you consider the Muslim population in China is at least forty million. There must be some “token religious freedom” to get cooperation in business from the western world, hence these few “drops in the bucket” of liberalization.Continue reading “Uyghur Chinese Muslims subjected to prejudice”

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Assalamualaykum WarahmatuLlahi Wabarakatuh,
Al-Hamdulillah, wa Sallallah wa Sallama `Ala Sayyidina Rasulillah, wa Alihi wa Sahbihi wa Man Walah, Wa Ba`du; Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah SWT, who has blessed us with another Ramadhan, the month in which the Qur’an was sent down, a guidance for the people [2:185]. Prophet Muhammad (may Allah honour him and grant him peace) illustrated the beauty of Ramadhan as the month of blessing, in which Allah SWT covers us with blessings, for He sends down mercy, decreases sins and answers prayers [Tabarani].Continue reading “Ramadhan 1432H Hospital Visit Program”
Zakat Distribution and “Rice Christians”
http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/172979
In the early years of President Sukarno‘s Indonesia, there were many very poor villagers. Since Bung Karno depended on western money to consolidate Indonesia’s new freedom, churches were not restricted in their synonymous missionary efforts. The term “rice Christian” came about as a result of villagers on the verge of starvation, or even simple malnourishment, being offered rice in exchange for church membership.Continue reading “Zakat Distribution and “Rice Christians””
