Special Announcement: Visit by Shaykh Dr. Abdal Hakim Murad to Malaysia

We are pleased to be able to announce a brief visit by Shaykh Dr. Abdal Hakim Murad to Malaysia from 27th to 29th March 2010. This is being held under the auspices of Islamic Outreach ABIM and Fajr Symphony, and with the cooperation of the Assembly of Young Intellectuals (HAKIM). Previous visits by many great Muslim scholars in the last three years have received excellent feedback from participants. Activities planned include a Grand Fundraising Event for the Cambridge New Mosque Project and selected local charitable activities. As was the custom with the tribes of Arabia prior to Islam, people’s allegiances were to tribes under whose protection one was, which meant other tribes, particularly less influential ones, would avoid entering into a feud with anyone from a more noble tribe. The Prophet (s) belonged to the most noble of them all, the tribe of Quraysh, and within that tribe, the noble tribe of Bani Hashim.
