“Young adult men’s support for redefining marriage may not be entirely the product of ideals about expansive freedoms, rights, liberties, and fairness. It may be, in part, a by-product of regular exposure to diverse and graphic sex acts.” The scholarly studies that have produced this statement are reported here. This is important research in the Social Sciences that needs to be brought to the attention of the United Nations Human Rights Council and the proponents of the 2006 Yogyakarta Principles, which tend to assume that their infamous “Human Rights” fully supports gay rights and pro-choice reproductive freedoms (in other words, free abortion).Continue reading “Why and By Whom is Marriage being Redefined?”

Guarding the sanctity of Islam
A British Muslim who has many family contacts in the Yemen reports that most of the remaining Guantanamo Bay Prison Camp inmates are Yemeni. These families have reported to him that the Prison Camp guards have used forced-feeding this past Ramadhan by inserting tubes into the inmates’ stomachs, to destroy their fast. What happened to Obama’s promise to close this facility? We have proof here that even Obama cannot stand against the deadly enemies of Islam, whatever he says or does otherwise.
UDHR and the position of Islam in Malaysia’s Federal Constitution
This paper examines the issue of the relationship between the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Malaysian Federal Constitution. Article 3(1) of the Federal Constitution specially singles out Islam as the religion of the Federation of Malaysia. This provision therefore, prima facie, conflicts with the provisions of the UDHR which require that people are not discriminated against on the basis of, among other grounds such as religion.

Malaysian Muslim Lawyers Association vice-president Azril Mohd Amin said the UPR would give the opportunity to the ruling government in 192 countries, including Malaysia, to declare the actions that could improve human rights in their respective countries.

A brief response to the Malaysian Bar President’s media statement
LGBTIQs? What do these phrases mean? In Indonesia, the “Q” has been publicly called “queer”. What sort of language is THIS for legislation? Even Mr. Lim Chee Wee, President of the Malaysian Bar in his press statement on 3 December 2012, cannot explain the Malaysian meaning of “Q”, which he says is “questioning”. This matter has far transcended natural politics. It has become, in medical terms, morbid. It is a matter for doctors and psychiatrists to address, not politicians.

Consensual Contagion?
Pang Khee Teik, co-founder of Seksualiti Merdeka, has responded to my earlier statement. Please click here for the original source. You may also find some other responses here, here and here.
I have written the following piece to “end run” the issue. It’s a point that is seldom made, whether or not homosexuality is “pathological” (which most doctors still believe it is).
The Ultimate Confrontation
http://www.malaysiakini.com/letters/208463
On 12 September 2012 there will be a Regional Consultation on the Drafting of an ASEAN Human Rights Declaration. There will be attempts by LGBTs, NGOs, and various other activists to include LGBT rights and the right of absolute freedom of religion in the Declaration. Were ASEAN to endorse such rights in the final Declaration, Malaysia as a Muslim-majority country would have to reiterate her strong objections; as such a policy clearly contradicts the principles enshrined in the religion of Islam.Continue reading “The Ultimate Confrontation”
